Da-dum. Channeling Black Screen Keifer Sutherland voice-over.
The following words were written between 8:00pm and 10:00pm IST. March 19, 2011. If you were partying with us at IndiaReloaded, you caught it in real time.
India's biggest home-grown reality tv show, Hero Honda MTV Roadies (Season) 8.0 Shortcut to Hell is on right now. 13 boys and girls (<30 years old) are selected through a nation wide audition process and sent on a bike ride around the country. For 40 days, they're put through rigorous physical and mental tasks to earn money and immunity from a blind ballot peer eviction. At the end, the last Roadie standing - action hero or politico - takes the pot. There are a lot of flame wars along the way. I couldn't ask for a better opening act.
-
Indian actress and talk show host, Koel Purie Rinchet cheerfully introduced Shah Rukh Khan yesterday morning, boasting several people had offered her twice the registration amount or pretended to be the sponsor's niece just to get into the same room and breathe the same air as the King Khan.
The India Today Conclave is nothing more than an opportunity for the rich and powerful to rub shoulders with the rich and powerful.
-
Oh my. Headlines Today is doing a recap of the second day of the Conclave starting with a pre-taped exclusive with Fatima Bhutto on Pakistan's blasphemy law. Did Sarah get bumped?
-
Now, I've already sent in my questions to Sarah Palin but I doubt they'll get picked. Look out for an audience question from PC, just in case.
Try your luck. Tweet your questions #ITConclave. They're very proud to be "buzzing" on the "world wide web".

Questions Palin was not asked:
1. In India, we value formal education and are proud of our tradition of according deep respect to the guru-shishya (student-teacher) relationship. My question to you is: Which of the five undergraduate colleges you attended was your favourite and who was your favourite teacher? Why? How are your children able to excuse themselves from public school and travel with you several times a year? How do you feel about your two oldest children choosing not to go to college? Will you encourage your three younger children to pursue a college education?
2. In the 2010 mid-term elections, 93% of campaign contributions from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce went to Republican candidates. Given your strong public position on American Exceptionalism, how do you balance the demand for American jobs in this time of economic downturn, with the push for off-shore outsourcing by corporate donors to you and your chosen candidates all over the nation?
3. Your hometown, Wasilla, Alaska went from zero to $22 million in debt at the end of your six years as Mayor (1996-2002) in which time you hired a lobbyist to get federal pork for Wasilla at the cost of $140,000 per year for four years. How do you reconcile your actions with your common sense small government conservative slogan?
4. Which Indian, alive today, do you most admire, and why?
5. Why are you here?

Love it PC! Love the blog too! Thanks for giving the link at Pogates!
Well done, Pundit Commentator! Good blog.
Happy Holi!
Well done, I feel for you, having to sit through that.
Thank you for transcribing that experience. I cannot listen to her for more than a moment. The screech makes my ears bleed.
As an American, I wish to apologize for her, but then again, someone in India did invite her. I think that whoever is responsible for that "bright idea," should reimburse the organization for all costs related to her appearance.
I try to comfort myself that, as with all negative things, she is on earth to teach us about important lessons. Thus far, I believe these lessons must be about our gullibility, the dangers of ignorance and bigotry, and the cult of personality amongst other human failings such as greed, self-absorption and an almost total lack of curiosity.
Again, thank you for an interesting and entertaining post. Namaste.
I find it funny the way $arah Falin' can never bring herself to speak of Obama as the President, she never uses his proper title, like here, its 'Candidate' Obama. Yet, she will never correct anyone who calls her 'Governor' Palin. The correct term is, of course, Ex-Half-term-Governor.
If you lookup the word IDIOT in the dictionary you'll see her picture. I think the ink used in printing her picture has more intelligence. Heck, my toejams and hangnails has more intelligence than her.
Thanks. entertaining commentary.
Thanks, IM! This is the best compilation of $arah Duhs India I've seen anywhere! Bravo!
Can anyone tell me why Netanyahu is taking even one second away from Israel's crises to be with this celebri-bimbo? Maybe he will pull a Pay-lin and cancel at the last minute.
I can't wait to see IM's write up of how $arah's word salad goes over in Israel. Ach!
Ha!
Gotta love the Poorie "double-blink."
Thanks PC for your colourful commentary!
Happy Holi!
: )
Most Excellent commentary as the Word Salad Shooter from Alaska bashes the sitting POTUS on foreign soil. Too bad the relevant questions you provided weren't picked!
Happy Holi, India can now breate a collective sigh of relief

great work and so funny and right on!!! also love your questions - you've done your research on the thrilla from wasilla. blessings!
Good grief this woman is an embarrassment to me as a woman and an American... And now she's going to go to Israel and embarrass us further!
This is how dim I am. It took repeated visits to this site to finally connect your HP account with this blog's name. Serious DUH. My excuse is that dealing with news of Palin requires the entire brain - three-quarters of it is trying to keep the other quarter from popping an aneurysm. Fine job! Great post! I'll be back.
Oh snap! I was in a crap-mood today and this evening but after reading your post (that I stumbled upon I might add)I am cracking the hell up and feeling hellofalot better knowing I am NOT the dumbest person on earth---Sarah Palin is! LOL!!!!!
As a man from Wasilla who loves India, I could hardly bear it when I learned SP was headed your way. Glad you saw through her. Any readers who might want to see some other sides to Wasilla, just click on my name and it will take you there.
I haven't seen any articles that indicate there were any American journalists representing our media in India. Last year, they would have followed her, this year, she's old news.
Thanks, PC for all the info you've brought to those who were interested in seeing just how she was going to "represent" our country. However, please remember, her followers are a very small minority and getting smaller all the time as was evident with her latest book tour. If she was gaining in popularity, the crowds would have been twice the size as last year instead, she drew half as many or less at almost every stop she made and she went to far fewer stops. She has worn out her welcome with her nasty, divisive rhetoric. You sure you don't want to keep her in India??
Funny stuff.What an embarrassment.You betcha.
Looks like Indiareloaded has a new page up.
Sarah Palin India Visit - Reactions from Real India
Only 3 comments.
Shall we head on over and tell them what we thought about Scara's speech?
Pundit Commentator? You around???
Where's KatieAnnieOakley??
http://indiareloaded.tv/article/sarah-palin-india-visit-reactions-real-india
I am told Palin thought she was flying to Indiana, but misspelled the destination and ended up in India. When she landed in India, she said "Golly, there are so many Brown people here in Indiana, thank god I didnt go to school here"
everytime i see sarah p, she reminds me of these superhero who is disguised as a librarian...take off the glasses and unpin the hair and then fly out of the window in tights..realizing a second after she leaves the window ledge that her super power is actually her super smile.
I think low information Republican male voters would tell you it's her body.
havent seen it, so cant really comment on that.
