Obsessing over beauty and fashion causes women to suffer midlife 'mirror crisis'

...an online survey conducted in January 2011 of 1246 women and published in the Invisible Women study found 90% of women aged in their 40s and 50s are so unhappy with the way they look that they suffer from what experts have dubbed "mid-life mirror angst syndrome".  Only 9% of women over 50 felt proud of what they see in the mirror, compared to 43% of twenty-somethings.

"Fashion is aimed at a youthful figure — and the more mature woman can all too often find that she isn't catered for. Psychologically, the effect is dramatic and demoralising," said adult behaviour psychologist Susan Quilliam.

Yes, it is true women dress for other women. But as long as men want babes in cars, women won't like the body in the mirror. 
You can take that to the bank.
