The thing is, Apple has not created a demand for tablets, they have created a demand for iPads. In their ads they show cool people doing cool things with the iPad and people want to do those things the moment they see those ads.

Update. Apparently some researchers already knew this one year ago but here's yet another reason why I don't want an iPhone or an iPad: Why and How Apple is collecting your iPhone location data. I care about my privacy.

I don't want one. I have a cell phone that I charge, put in my purse, and use maybe once to call my daughter-in-law, then leave it alone again untilI have to recharge it. Worthless. I never use it in the car. I figure someone has to be the adult on the road watching out for the morons doing everything BUT driving responsibly.

this is typical of the magnets that apple innovates every time.. and it catches hot with the teens.. others just follow them coz that makes them look young.. or atleast that is what they think..
btw, i am just waiting for one next birthday when my "special someone" promised to gift me one ;)

Even I dont want one,I've got a phone for my calls and messages,that takes care of communication and i've got a mp3 player for music,thats all i need :D
Surprising to hear a techie teen doesn't want one but as you mentioned, you don't seem to need another device right now!
