Hi PC. I have to go back and read your post but here are my 2 cents on the new template. Old eyes have problems with the grey blurry bits and also with colour font unless it is a very distinct contrast. So when I am reading the info on the left hand side I can only read it when the red is against the blue- or at the bottom where the red is against the white. The arcs in the middle make it difficult to read. I am just realizing that the arc is actually the pages of a book but I did not realize that until I scrolled all the way down so that the post did not show. On the right hand side it is very clear- except for the blurry font effect. Overall though I think you are moving in the right direction.
Thank you so much for reviewing the new template. Yes, I agree with you about the left sidebar - it is hard to see the text over the template design. OK, I guess I'll move everything back to the right sidebar and see how it all looks for a few days with this same template. The previous template also had the blurry font effect but since the background was dark, I guess the reader didn't notice. Let me see how I can fix that. The previous template didn't seem to fit a "new" oriented website, was a comment I received. Lets see how we feel about this template for a couple of days. If it doesn't work, we can try a third one.
At one point Pundit you will be completely happy with it and then do not ask for any more input- because someone will always have another idea. I am working on a website for teachers and everyone has another thought for how to do it. It is driving me crazy. But I just wanted to mention the colours because I am finding it harder and harder to distinguish as I get older. Your blog is great. Just a bit more tweaking.
I understand. Good luck with your website! The majority opinion seems to be against this particular background so please give me your input on this third one - solid black. If people don't like it, I think I'll either switch back to the old design or to a plain white background.
Pundit I have no problems reading any of this - even the shaded titles stand out. So you have figured out the legibility. Now you just need to decide on the one you like best.
